About Atlas Components

Atlas Components supplies pressed and machined parts to vehicle manufacturers from nine plants across Europe.

The challenge

“Planners rang buyers, buyers rang suppliers, and the answer was out of date by the time it travelled back.”

Each plant kept its own picture of what was on order. Group had no way to see committed supply without asking nine people.

The solution

One order book now covers every plant and updates as goods are confirmed, shipped and received. Planners read it directly rather than asking someone to look it up.

The results

“The planners stopped calling us, and that is the highest praise procurement ever gets.”

Status calls dropped sharply, and the planning team abandoned its shadow spreadsheet because the live record was finally faster than asking.

Looking ahead

Atlas is connecting inbound transport so the order book shows where goods are, not only that they have shipped.
